Over time, this became my go-to name for all sorts of things. I ended up deciding "SticktheFigure" was the best I could do. I was so sure I'd release Pivot stick figure videos that I wanted a relevant name. Disregarding Neopets, the first site I came up with a real name was YouTube.
I was very young at the time so I picked a name where his fellow clan members (awkward shoutout to any possible members of =PoW=) would recognize it's me and try and not harass his child.Įventually I got to a point where I needed a unique name of my own, to break free. Long story incoming, but I like telling it that way:īack in the Original Days™ I started my online gaming under the name of Kernel's Kid, as my father played RTCW:ET under the username Kernel 2.6.5. Also, the squishy sit-on-a-hill-SEN was kind of a dying species, nowadays sadly almost extinct, so a less class-specific nick felt more relevant. Like "I shoot because I care, think of it as a green ball of love" or something. "Greenloveletter" is just a stupid joke that popped in a drunk late night game after someone complaining about being mortared maybe too many times in a match. So I changed my name to "senitelfriend" to underline the fact that SEN harassment is just something I do, not trying to be a dick to anyone personally.
That made me sad, as I genuinely enjoyed playing against, and respected many of the better ones. Partly because mortar is somewhat forgiving about ping, partly because I felt it was a role pubs sorely needed filling, partly because it was just an enjoyable challenge and plain fun.ĭuring those times a few SEN-playing folks took things a bit too personally, thinking I was focusing on them due to some personal beefs or whatevs. My way of saying "yes I know" (played through 3G, nowadays 4G which still sucks most of the time).ĭeveloped a fondness of mortar-sniping and otherwise harassing sentinels. In the past had a ping-related wordplay nick because I was tired of people commenting on my connection.
